The Bottomless Lakes Triathlon

I set a goal to do this race last year
after I saw Justin complete the Spud Man
in Burley. Literally months of hard work
and training went into getting myself to the starting
line. I did it, placed 3rd in my age, and plan to do more.
I am so very proud of myself and my hubby!

the water was gross, my goggles fogged, but I didn't drown!

getting to bike those 8 miles was my favorite part.
Oh the run was killer! but my legs look nice.
here's Justin heading down the home stretch
hooray fo rthe finish!  he had the presence of mind to time himself, not I.

Our LT has arrived!!!!

At last! We got up and drove to the airport in Lubbock to pick up our daddy. His flight from Memphis was right on time, luckily we were too, even with 2 pit stops for a potty break. The boys and I were so excited, I got a short video clip and hopefully along with the pictures of his arrival. So, so, so grateful to have him home, we have the best DAD!

Wating and Waiting

Well the wait is almost over, the hubby will be home soon! How soon is the question. He was put on a plane to Baltimore and landed nice and safe yesterday. His next flight this afternoon though to Memphis is questionable. That's right, he may not make his connection, bad weather or some such thing has delayed his flight. IF and its a mighty BIG if, he makes the connection, we'll be picking him up at the Lubbock Airport in 7 hours. What to do between now and that time?! Wait and see if Justin calls, if he calls, then we don't have a trip to make tonight, he'll be coming in tomorrow. If there was ever a time for 4 letter words, its now.

Fooling around

Well, my friends have lots of fun things on their blogs, you know who you are, I am covertly stealing your fun ideas and fooling around with them to see what I like. I still need to figure out how to post a picture with a one line description under it! That is on a short to-do list. I want to have my anniversary countdown on here somewhere too, and a spot for the fun websites that I like to visit, including twilightmoms.com of course!

Is the cuttle bug a real bug mom?

Today I got me a Cuttle Bug, by Provo Craft!! I tell you, for 3 years I have had my eye on one at one time or another. So why the big leap today whilst in Hobby Lobby? I saw it, had the cash, and went for it. How I had the cash is sort of a long story. A few months ago Jeremy was invited to attend a Youth Summit in D.C. After the whole time of Austin being hospitalized and deciding we'd better get our family relocated, we also realized that trip for Jeremy wouldn't work out. Once he got accepted, we paid a $300 deposit, that was returned to us along with part of the first tuition payment. Saturday the check came, today we cashed it and boo-yah, cuttle bug for me! Jeremy gets the deposit that was returned. Yes, he earned it, he's really a wonderful student and kid. Believe me, he has big plans. Well, now that all of that is cleared up, on the way home from town and all my fun finds at Hobby Lobby, one of my Boys asks "So Mom, is the cuttle bug a real bug?" I had to chuckle.

The Camp Fundraiser, man it was wild.

Our YW and YM had the annual fundraiser a while back. now last year we missed out, baseball conflict. This year we got to go, but I didn't get to enter anything for the auction. I did bring the check book though! The boys scouted out the goods and decided on this

The inside looked like this, yes that is a heart

By the end of the night, we spent over $100 bucks, it was lots of fun and the kids raised over $2000! The bidding was crazy and halarious to witness.

June, Oh how I love June!

Normally I really don't have strong feelings about the month of June. The 6th is my Mom's birthday, which is super, we have Father's Day as well, super I love my Dad and my kids love their Dad, too. BUT this year is totally 100% different. THE LOVE OF MY LIFE IS FINALLY COMING HOME!! If I could shout on the computer, I would. I am so dang exctied to see his shiny bald head and big ole' smile! It was really stupendous to have him home in March, even terribly briefly and under hard circumstances. In actuality, we only saw each other on that occasion a very little bit. Don't tell any one but we had a make out session in the hospital, right there in Austin's room! HA! Really wouldn't you?!? I could really ramble on about how great it will be to have him home, but my boys are trying to get to bed and are beckining me.
